KDE 4 on ubuntu gutsy - The easy way

The much awaited KDE4 has been launched. 11th January 2008 was the day when they had a stable release. To have a small detail about it visit the homepage.

An easy way to install the enviroment is descibed below
1. Edit the source.list
vi /etc/apt/sources.list
add the entry
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu gutsy main

2. update the sources
apt-get update

3. Install the environment
apt-get install kde4

wait for the install to finish and log off the current environment and select the sessions as KDE4 at the login screen and live with the life in style.

The upcoming Hardy is loaded with KDE4… the alpha version is currently available here.
